WATER CHANNELS
Isuzu truck roofs are specially designed to direct water away from the windshield for better visibility. The channels also help minimize pooled water spilling over the door when you exit the cab.
Interior
The new interior is enhanced with a two-tone gray interior trim, and the seats are covered with a gray and blue crosspattern tricot fabric that improves the look and feel of the interior while being durable for the daily grind.
SPACIOUS CAB
Isuzu trucks offer two cab choices, seating for three or seven. Both cabs are built with the driver and passenger in mind. The most notable feature of the cab is the forward visibility. The large windshield and low cab forward design give drivers eight more feet of visibility in front of the cab. Vertical A-pillars located at the front corners of the cab provide an expanded peripheral view.
LIGHTING
Isuzu trucks are equipped with halogen headlights with high/low beams and daytime running lights. The forward-facing turn signals are integrated into the top of the headlamp design. Five auburn-colored marker lights are placed across the roofline to increase the truck’s visibility to other drivers. On the doors, the turn signals have an integrated cornering lamp that is activated when the turn signal is activated to light the driving path when turning.
BRAKES AND MULTI-LEAF SUSPENSION
A four-wheel disc braking system enhances braking performance while improving pedal feel. This braking system utilizes a vacuum + power assist and the anti-lock braking system (ABS) includes electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). This braking system coupled with a robust suspension system that has a tapered multi-leaf front suspension (7,220-lbs. rating) and multi-leaf rear suspension (12,900-lbs. rating) helps stabilize heavy payloads during braking.
6.6L V8 Gas Engine
The gas-powered NPR and NPR-HD are equipped with an advanced 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine. The engine produces:
- 350-hp @ 4500 RPM
- 425-lb-ft. torque @ 3800 RPM
This advanced engine is powerful, efficient, and most of all, durable. The cast-iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, forged steel crankshaft and stainless-steel exhaust manifolds serve as the base for this power producer. Acceleration and efficiency are magnified through advanced technologies like direct injection, electronic throttle control and variable valve timing.
6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
The gas-powered NPR and NPR-HD are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This Hydra-Matic transmission includes a lock-up torque converter and two overdrive gears. The transmission is programmed for optimal acceleration and efficiency. Gear ratios are as follows: (1) 4.027, (2) 2.364, (3) 1.532, (4) 1.152, (5) 0.852, (6) 0.667 and (REV) 3.064:1.
DUAL REAR-WHEEL CHASSIS
The dual rear-wheel chassis provides a robust and sturdy platform that can manage heavier payloads. The design also provides enhanced traction at the rear wheels for better acceleration while providing responsive steering control from the front wheels. Equipped with 225/70 R19.5” tires, the wheels and tires have an “inner-outer” rotation that is designed to extend the life of your tires and save you money.
GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATINGS (GVWR)
Both the gas-powered NPR (12,000-lbs. GVWR) and NPR-HD (14,500-lbs. GVWR) have a front axle capacity of 6,830-lbs. and a rear axle with a 14,550-lbs capacity. The NPR is equipped with 16-inch tires with a 4.10 drive ratio and the NPR-HD is equipped with 19-inch tires with a 4.30 drive ratio. These strong components provide robust body payloads. The NPR has a body payload up to 6,796-lbs. and the NPR-HD up to 8,941-lbs. With four wheelbase choices (109, 132.5, 150 and 176-in.), these trucks can accommodate bodies from 12 to 20-ft.
IN-FRAME FUEL TANK
The 38.6-gallon in-frame fuel tank is conveniently placed between the rear frame rails. This rearward position keeps the tank free from interfering with body mounts and doesn’t clutter the frame rails. The larger tank also helps provide increased range to keep refueling time to a minimum.
